MESSAGE TO FELLOW STUDENTS FROM “GREAT WORKS GHOSTWRITERS," THE NEW, STUDENT-RUN LITERARY MAGAZINE CLUB AT TEACH TO THE TEXT
Greetings, lovers of literature!
We are inviting students (ages 12-18) to submit work to the first edition of our literary magazine coming out this spring.
We are accepting submissions of:
ESSAYS
SHORT STORIES
ARTWORK
PHOTOGRAPHY & PHOTOS OF PROJECTS (MODELS, etc.)
POETRY
COMIC STRIPS
CREATIVE AUDIO/VIDEO CONTRIBUTIONS
Students ages 12-13 may send in one submission for this edition.
Students ages 14-18 may send in three submissions for this edition.
NOTE: We do not accept attachments.
Submission instructions:
Create a Google drive folder.
Upload your work to the folder. Please only submit one work if you are 12-13 and only three maximum if you are 14-18.
Name each file with the title of the submission.
Create a separate document in the folder titled “ABOUT” with: student name, age, email address, and parent name, parent email address. (Include your school if you would like, if you attend one!) Include a note for our editors about your work, for example, what it is and what inspired it, to help them understand what they are looking at.
Copy the link to the folder and send the link to: submit at teachtothetext dot com
We will not publish anything without parent permission. Any submissions that do not include parent contact information will not be reviewed or responded to. If you want to make it super easy on us, just have your parent send us the link to your work, cc'ing the student on the email.
You will be notified by April 1 if your work has been selected for publication.
Currently, we plan to publish a digital version only, but in the future we might publish a “Best of” in print. So, getting published in the digital version would likely be the first step to eventually seeing your work in print.
